SE Asia

OK well I guess its helpful if we continue the updates on here with photos BUT what with facebook, we generally put pictures on there and then completely forget about this blog ..OOPS!!
After the last post, we travelled to India, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam and Laos. Unfortunately the original plan to go to China and take the trans mongolian to Russia was going to be impossible as you have to apply for your Russian visa in your own country....grrrrrrrrrrr!! So we cut our SE Asis trip short by 2 months and travelled to New Zealand for a 3 week road trip which was great especially the part where we got to see Muse perform in Auckland..oh yes. (grins)
So 2 weeks ago we returned to our home countries with a distinct lack of motivation to do anything as the cold seeped through our skin and into our bones. We await our Canadian visas for the next part of the travel fest, fingers crossed all goes through ok.

Singapore - Indonesia - Malaysia (westcoast)

After a 2 day stop over in Singapore (to go to the Zoo) we left for Indonesia. Our trip started off in Jakarta and ended up in Ubud. We made our way down through the Island of Java stopping off Pagandaran where we visited the Green Canyon (tres beautiful) and then onto Mt Bromo where Pieter got his money shot!
From Java, straight through Bali as it was Ramahdan and Bali was busy, onto Lombok, not much to see there and it started to rain so back to Bali for our last few days in Ubud. Beautiful city but the tourist trade has dug its nails in.
Overall Indonesia was a fascinating country, the scenery, the people, the culture. It slaps you in the face with how different our lives are and we got to experience a 10 second Earthquake.

Ozzie adventure coming to an end.....

In 20 days time we will be leaving behind the land of dust, flies, barbeques and Kylie for SE Asia.
After leaving Coral Bay in April we came back to the Kimberleys where we have been working at Hotel Kununurra, Jenny in Reception and Pieter as Housekeeping SUPERVISOR (just to make him feel good about himself).
Not really anything to report other than we have been working very, very, verrrry hard saving up for the next adventure.

Back in Coral Bay (where it all began)

Wow, its been a while!! Sooooooooo we managed to get our second year visas ... WOOP!! ... which meant bye bye to the Roadhouse and HELLOOOOOOOOOOOOOO roadtrip. It was good to be back on the road again and we met this Ozzie guy who was kind enough to take us from Darwin to Adelaide and all the bits in between (Litchfield, Kakadu, Alice Springs, Uluru (big red rock), Coober Pedy). From there we travelled to Melbourne and spent a week there, was hard to get used to the change in temperature so we decided to go somewhere even colder ... Tasmania. We stayed there for a few weeks looking for work but nothing came up and we were running short of cash so we rang up our beloved bosses at Coral Bay who were more than happy to take us back as we are such good workers *coughs* so here we are and we cant upload any pictures to go with this as the connection is so crap so go to facebook for now.

Bye for now

We left Fitzroy Crossing

Stress, a shit boss, boredom, ... made us leave Fitzroy Crossing and the money couldn't make us stay. Thanks Greyhound for getting us to Kunanarra. We stayed in a backpackershostel for a week, did some days of sandalwoodpruning and finally found a job in a roadhouse 1,5 hour drive from Kun. We'll work there for some months and then apply for our second visa ... because we LOVE Australia (because it's easy to make money)!
